I'm in the middle of another 5 speed conversion. It's my friend's 92 Daytona IROC that he bought for $500. The a604 was stuck in second gear and I didn't hear the solenoids so chances are it was crap. So far I have the axles and starter out, and the wiring is ready to plug in to the 5 speed.
The wiring is cake. I did the same thing that I did on my Spirit. I just removed the transmission harness and the computer, took the one plug and 3 wires I needed and made the splices.
All the parts are ready too. The transmission is my spare 3.50, the console is from the 90 Daytona that I got the transmission from, the pedals are out of an 88 Daytona and the cables are from a turbo minivan. I even found a 5 speed ECU. Once this is done there wont be any way to tell it was ever automatic.
And the best part is, he's giving me $200 when its done

I put the clutch and brake pedals in my Shadow ES this evening. I was bored and had nothing better to do. Plus I thought it'd be good to get used to them now.

I'll have to get a bunch of rubber bands to hold up the clutch pedal so I can practice using it, while driving an automatic transmission! I have about 50 of them at work that I never threw out in the last few months.

It's gonna be a lot of fun getting the clutch cable put in its place when the time comes!

it wasn't too bad getting the clutch cable in my spirit. i already installed the pedals and i just fed it through the fire wall then hooked it to the pedal. the hardest part was getting under there to do it.

As long as they are the same spline count, they will work.

both disks have a OD of 9in ,and a spline ID of 15/16 ,with a spline count of 17. on paper they look identical. i'm figuring the press plate will probably be a better design than the standard 3.0 press plate.

Get a clutch kit for a 1993 Iroc R/T if you want one that's better.
