Ok, here's my take on the situation. I fully understand the fact that your car is overheating, right? You've checked the coolant system for pressure, right? And you've done a compression check on all the cylinders, right?

Now, other than the car is overheating and the fan isn't coming on; what else of this equation are we missing here?

At what temperature does the missing start? Is it consistant with the temperature, or is it more irratic?

Hey Tim....I'm sorry if what I said misled you(though I don't think it did). I assumed you knew if the fan wouldn't run, it would overheat. I did forget to put this in my post about the rad cap and not boiling over......as long as it doesn't run too long without the fan. You sound like you knew that already.

the miss starts as soon as i start it up and gets worse as you rev it up it doesnt blow any smoke or use any fluids as it warms up it gradually gets worse lets stick to badmouthing the honduhs or fords this is a chrysler site is it not?

the plugs and wires cap and rotor have less than 500 miles on them the plugs look normal light carbon nothing unusual how would i go about checking the module in the distributor?

hmm, it's miss firing. Yet the plugs aren't wet with fuel? Sounds like a possible injection issue to me now. Have you ever cleaned your injection system?
What are your air/fuel ratios looking like? Last time you replaced your fuel filter?

What for plugs and wires are you using?

no pending codes magenecor 8.5 mm wires ngk v power plugs gapped to .040 no egr valve
its got an intake and exhaust nothing extraordinary it could be something fuel related the fuel filters fairly new also

i dont know exactly what the ratio is but the gauge reads rich lean rich lean constantly

At idle and under normal driving conditions (light throttle/ cruising) is will do that. When you pin the pedal to the floor, you should be reading between .90-.95 volts (third and second to last lights).


The cycling of the lights from lean to rich just means that the O2 sensor is responding to the PCM's leaning and richening of the mixture, as it should.
