I've had the ASX's on another car, and didn't much care for them. They didn't grip as well as some of the other tires I've run. But I will say that they did ok for the most part.
For an inexpensive performance tire, I've tried three different brands. Of the three, they were Nankang, Federal, And Nexen. The Nankang NS-1 are garbage. They wear fast and not much grip. The Federal SS595's were hellishly grippy. But, they don't last long at all. Right now, I'm running Nexen N3000's. So far, with only about 5k on them, I'm thoroughly impressed. Grip as well, if not better, than the Federals. And for now, they seem to be wearing very well.
If you need an all season tire, I've had nothing but great results with BF Goodrich tires.
