i have 205's all around. no problems with traction as long as I dont launch too hard. just take it easy in the first 2 gears so you dont blow the tires away. like find the perfect throttle where you wount blow the tires away but still get moving.

I ran 225/50/15s on my high compression duster, with an open differential and I did 2.03 60 fts. The 1/4 mile was 14.2s @ 96s

Those tires worked good for me I had 225/50/15s and I cut 2.0-2.1 60 fts all day. I ran a 14.3 @ 94 w/ 2.03 60 ft with those tires. Damn good for cheapo all seasons.

Awesome news on those Falkens, that's just what I was looking for. I was considering the Kumho ECSTA - ASX (or something like that) too. Putting them on 15 inch pumpers on the van, so need a slightly taller tires, so will need 225/60/15s, so hope those are as sticky as the 50 profile.

My car hooked up real well with the 10:1 motor. I had to feather the gas though.

yea i had timming problems with my msd timming controller which led to shitty bottom end power, but sick up top and by the time i figured out that my msd was the problem it was too late, driving home started to knock, pulled the base pan and was full of shavings,(still had full oil pressure). skirts were broke off a couple of pistons,

I like those size tires because they fill up the wheel well.
Ive never sprung for good traction tires though.
I think the tiny 195/55r15 Falken Ziex Ze (front only, they are very old and came with the car) on my duster grip a lot better then my kumho HP4 225/60r15.
In the future I might buy "better" tires for at least the front. My tires seem to wear very evenly so Im not worried about rotating them.

I'm figuring on cutting down a couple of old rotors for spacers if the 225s need it. Word is the studs are only long enough for about 1/4 inch of spacer, nuts only go half on with as much as 1/2 inch.

I run 195/60/15, V rated, Kumho ECSTA ASX tires. Since they are all season tires, they are neither too hard nor too soft, and they grip really well wet or dry even in cold weather. They are really holding up too, unlike the last set of Kumhos I had, and I couldn't be happier with them.

Here is a link about them. Kumho ECSTA ASX
