Found a supercharger at the yard today

1/4: 16.700

thunderbird sc with 157000km on it, never thought it would be soo easy to pull off. what is the best way to start this project? i have a 3.0L plenum lying around . thanks for any help and suggestions

i have the 3.3L which is getting a full rebuild (slowly), and a supercharger for my 3.0L now for someone to say im doing nothing about it well i will be nice about it " you don't know me very well" so thanks for nothing

you CAN put the S/C ontop the stock plenum, but it will give you one hell of a heed clearance issue. IMHO the best way would be to fab up a upper manifold to accomidate the S/C and close the hood. Also some form of standalone EMS will be needed (no cals for the 3.0 as of yet) to handle the boost. Bigger injectors and probably a header job come to mind.

That would definately be cool. 6 individual carbs would be a bitch to tune. you could also do 6 ITB's (individual throttle bodies) this way you can keep efi while getting the flow of individual carbs. You would need some serious top end work to take advantage of a setup like that. I think you'd also want to spin that motor to at least 7000 rpm or make it worth while

whats the question? do you want to put it on the intake manifold? go for it. cut out the shape on the top half of the intake manifold, have a fabricated aluminum plate welded on and bolt the s/c to it. install a new belt, cut out the hood and tell us how fast it is.
