ok, here goes again - front end parts replaced

polybushings
A arm bushings
Sway bar bushings
Inner and outer tie rod ends
Ball joints
Coilover front suspension

are the tops of the upper mounts supposed to flex when you push on the front of the car? both sides move a little in the center where the struts are bolted

Yes, the center should move somewhat (it's a rubber bushing). What I noticed on my failed strut mount was that one sat higher than the other and moved more when I bounced that corner.

what i thought i noticed was that the right coilover spring didnt look evenly compressed, like one side was slightly more loaded making it look like the spring curved a little... ill take a better look in daylight and see

Hey Shadow,
Is the right spring compressed more than the left? This could shift weight to the left side.
The coil mountings are about $45 per side from Moog.
BTW what are you studying at Alfred?

thanks reaper, college = poor so im used to it by now lol

Ed, i may replace the mounts over the summer along with some better springs (actually KNOWN spring rates lol) and KYBs and see what happens. it almost looks like the right is loaded up a bit more than the left, but i dont have my coilover wrenches with me at school so i cant mess with it yet.. ill see if that really is the case and adjust it when i bring some crap home in 2 weeks

I am actually studying Network Administration with a minor in Network Security. ill have a BT hopefully next year.

i wonder what ill do with 60k/year instead of the 9-12K or whatever i make now :-D

Hey Shadow,
Were those springs marked left & right? Was the original app. for a car with the trans on the drivers side? Maybe you need to switch the springs.
Don't worry about "extra money", it doesn't exist.

no markings at all on the springs, it was a generic ebay kit supposedly for a 2000-2005 eclipse, same motor/trans orientation and setup

yeah, i kinda figured. never enough $$$ lol

Speedy has a great suggestion. I doubt you have access to tire scales, but you could always use the height adjustment of the springs to change preload and try to fight the torquesteer that way. Also, if one spring looks crooked, make sure that it is fully seated on the collar.

well, when i go home in a couple weeks im going to jack the front end off the ground and double check the front end. my spring perch wrenches are at home along with all my other tools so im a bit SOL at the moment. it almost looks like i didnt tighten the right front perch enough and the spring is slipping the smallest amount on the upper mount. not enough to pose a danger when driving but enough to cause problems.

i also noticed that under heavy braking (95mph-10mph) that the front pulls to the LEFT while the rear tracks straight. im betting this is something to do with the pull to the right on power...

well, i think that maybe my right spring isnt snugged up to the upper perch which may be causing the problem. im going to adjust it tomorrow.

other good and bad news:
Bad - dump truck losing some stone gave me a 2" crack in my windshield on the way home from school today *GRR for no comprehensive, added it today though going to have a glass place try a fix instead of $200-300 for a new windshield.

Good - progressively got better gas mileage on the 400 mile drive home. ran 4 hours with autotune, and got 26mpg at the one fillup this trip, ill see how good it is on the way back to school sunday. im hoping to break 30mpg on the highway

Will that track let you run with the crack? Hopefully it can get fixed. I can get windshields for like 90 bucks but the moldings cost like 60 bucks which feels like a ripoff...not to mention removing the windshield sucks, and installing the molding doesn't go on very well. So if you cant get it fixed then a new one installed for 180-200 its probably worth it.
