Went through all the videos.

Looks like you are short shifting badly...like maybe @ 5500 rpms??? and I can see in the last video your car bogging after launch. That must be the rich spot you need to fix.

unless my tach is lagging or something, i was shifting around 6000-6500. i only got one run on datalog so im going to look at it and see. i think im shooting for a 13:1 AFR at WOT. the bog and stall were when my launch RPMs were too low and i hit a REALLY FAT spot on the map where it bogs REAL bad. AFAIK there arnt really any dynos close to me at school here (ill see if the motorsports people have one i can do a pull or ten on) im hoping to go back to the track a time or two before school's out, best $10 ive ever spent!

id like to double check my solid bobblestrut and maybe preload the motor a bit with it. Next time i go, id like to get some closer vids of my launches, and maybe some interior shots.

what sucks is i have to hit 4th like 200 feet from the line, and 4th is fairly slow... i may look into running 1st-3rd to 7000 so 4th isnt as much of a dog

Ill tell my g/f you liked the DJ-ing Reaper

Hmmm...yeah, I'd see if you could get away with revving the engine a bit higher at the end of the track. Another fairly easy option would be to swap to taller tires(if you can). That could also help with traction.

The only other option I know that would help is a 3.50 FD. If you do that, the car might actually slow down until you start making more power though. Personally I'd try the first two before I did a tranny swap like that...

yeah, im going to try winding 1st/2nd to 7000 maybe 3rd as well, that way 4th isnt as bad. im pretty sure 4th is killing me aside from my ETs and launches

on the list for the summer are:
stage 2 N/A or S/C cams
adj. cam gears
valve Springs
M90 w/ intercooler
rear suspension stiffening

Nice pulls. Sounds like its running pretty decently. A good launch and you would easily be into the 14's. Hope to see more keep up the good work.

Then get something else for drag racing. Increasing rim size = less traction in a straight line because launching is all about sidewall

so keeping the 15"s and getting some different tires (or slicks) would be best? i was hoping a good set of street rubber would help but i read about sidewall effect last night so i get what your getting at

well, since i cant afford good tires by weds (next time im going) i was thinking i should run lower PSI in my tires. i have a fairly tall sidewall on the 195/60R15s so what sort of PSI should i be down to? 20s? teens? this may be the source of the wheel hop i had at the track...

EDIT:
these were the tires i was looking at getting this summer

try anything between 16-26. If you have a little air compressor that plugs into your car that helps. Try putting 44ish psi into your rear tires too to give a little less rolling resistance.

I like to slowly decrease each pass. Inspect the tires to see how they are wearing and check the wheelwells to see if one side is getting lots of tirespray stuck to it.
