there are some people putting down good power with the RIPP kits, but its not for me
Yeah, I am pretty sure Ripp doesnt know how to make something that costs 5000 dollars and actually fits. All the installs I have seen for 3000gt's required rebuilding the install kit and plumbing, and throwing away their tuning stuff and using yoru own stuff. All on your own dime. Ripp will ignore your emails after you bother them about everything that is wrong with their 5,000 dollar products.

And they use centrifigals icky.
Ported m90 can make 500hp on a 4.6L so I dont think your 24v will be scared of making power.

I wasnt saying get the rip kit. I was just suprised people are making this much power with these engines. I have a 99 sebring with the 6g73 2.5l and its slower then hell. I would like to see how yours turns out as i would not spend that much on a supercharger.

Don809, yeah, ive heard the 2.5s lack a bit to be desired. however, if you haunt ebay for a whil, you can score an M90 for around $100, a DIY intercooler piping kit and intercooler and do your own. Im looking to get a 2.5 lower intake manifold as it uses the same style injectors as the VR4 3000GTs (360cc/min) and i have a set for when i get the S/C ready. the bosses are lower and the fuel rail is at the right height for the diff. style injectors.

Im hoping i can do fairly well with the S/C, as long as i can get some traction

haha i hear you about the traction. The one thing that i dont know what to do is engine management. I know there is megasquirt but what else is there for these engines.

ive "heard" of others but i ether dont have the $$$ or dont know anything about em. some of the 4cyl guys here use something called FAST or SDS (dont quote me on that) and the other standalone options are the usual AEM (expensive), haltec/motec (REALLY expensive) etc. Megasquirt would probably be the least expensive and most adaptable to a custom motor like yours, brent's or mine

UPDATE:
i got to work on the car tonight, got the starter out, oil filter relocation off, drained the trans (yay for drain plug mod! ) and got both axles out. partially disconnected the bobble strut and took the front motor mount off. all in all, not bad for 2.5 hours. i am a little concerned about the trans though, i looked at the drained fluid and it was silvery. its AMSOil synthetic 5w30 MTX fluid. Im hoping all im seeing is pre-existing wear particles being cleaned out by the synthetic. Im thinking ill go back to regular 5w30 and see if the 1st gear synchro gets any better, its a bit stubborn lately... ill see how the oil has separated tomorrow as well, and how much particulates are in the oil.

I also noticed some rust ill need to take care of this summer. luckly i have access to a welder and the like...

hoodless car...again!

front left rust

left rear rust

Silvery oil

^^yeah, my oil that came out of my A555 looked like that. I run Red Line MTF. I'm going to change the fluid in my new tranny soon too. I had to drain it to take the tranny out of the car again(when I was doing the clutch when I first got it) and it looked like that. I'm hoping it was just break in of the new bearings and OBX....

My trans fluid looked like that after using a phantom grip, but I dont know that I can blame the device.

My duster is pretty cool. It had the passenger rear jackpoint rust out. I cut it all up to remove the rusty part (and totally removed the jackpoint).

I also found that the passenger rear of my duster was not rusty...and IT DIDNT HAVE A JACK POINT OR THE SUPPORTS INSIDE THE CHASSIS. Weird!

I will never bother to reweld what I cut out of the passenger rear jackpoint since I dont consider it important metal. The only thing I fixed was the rusted drivers rear wheel well that made the shock bracket come loose. I cut off the metal and did a crap job welding new metal to the bracke to hold it in place

How come you are holding the car by the seam and not the support a few inches away (its sorta L shaped and visible in the picture).
And I use the frame rails to hold the car up in front.

A piggy-back system is something that should be considered too... (Greddy e-Manage, SMT6, etc.) They are easier to wire in and start with your engine's stock base tune and work relative to that.

IMHO from cutting seveal of these cars up, the rockers ARE the structural support for these cars in the twisting motion. I would HIGHLY reccomend repairing those ASAP and as well as you can! An interesting note as that the forward inside corner of the rear wheel wells on these cars have about 5 different peices of metal come together right there! Kinda scary to me if that point is rusted out.

WOW! Thanks Ed. You guys should check this out!

I just took a look at their sites. These units look both very promising and affordable. These are perfect for NA people with a lot of mods.

Ed, I think you should start a thread about these gizmos.

Thanks again.

i will try to get a picture.

With how forgetful the P body manufacturers seem to be (like why my car only came with a jack point on the passenger rear and not the drivers rear) they might have not installed the lift points on your car.

I am very sincere Ed. I don't recall seeing that thread. I will go check it out right now. I just hope I don't find out I have already posted in it.

Really Ed. Great information. Thanks
