yeah, its
6000 for v8
7500 for v6
9000ish for v cylinder

Those are all not absolutes though. Some modules probably behave better or worse then others at the limit. Could be 7200 or 7800 for yours who knows.

Just FYI the tach input on MS is wired the same for an EDIS module as it is for a hall sensor which is wired the same as our opto pickup in our stock distributor.

they said a543 grrrrr Of course I dont care about you cause you have the right body style

I am all about stealing other peoples transmissions though. Our market is small enough that we cant hurt people anyways.

Thought it was funny that people were worried about their stock computer in that ASE post since the stock computer is OUT OF THE LOOP hehe. Only thing the stock computer should worry about is that the engine is cheating on it

Hey, MS has a known "alternator not charging" issue. I don't remember the specifics, though. Just read a note on it yesterday.
I'm working on a DOHC swap and will be using MS(ii), is it cool if I PM you as things move forward to ask about it? So few peeps know it where the 3.0's are concerned ;-) The great thing about the DOHC - NO DIZZY, pure DIS wasted spark <as if that were easier>.
I like those coil-overs, you think they will fit a 'Baron? I'm also a cheap bastard (translated: broke mofo). Any info on that is good info, IMO.
Nice work, good luck the final tune!!!
Peace and Lotsa Luck!

LOL, you guys don't know your Fords, do you? If you run a Ford EDIS, you will HAVE TO run FORD/Motorcraft wires - otherwise it'll miss and arc to no end. And, rev potential of a Ford ignition is somewhat... sad. Ask the 5.0 EEC-IV guys, past 6k or so they had to buy a "rev extender" from FMS (gee, that's almost as much of a shock as GW getting rich off of high gas prices).
I'm trying a DOHC swap, PITA but it's got a BANGING DIS ignition that is reputed to do 8,000++ RPM (stock). IMO, you'd be better off messing with Generic Motors (GM) stuff than Flip-Over-Read-Directions over-priced crapola.
Anyway, good luck. I'm not raggin ya, far from it. But, I know Fords... It's like hitting yourself in the head with a hammer - only feels GOOD when you QUIT (doing it).
Lotsa luck and love to you for the 24v MS swap! I wish you the best with the EDIS!

LeBeercan

PS, ASE is sort of a joke around here... Like ABYC... when is the last time you heard someone brag about the abilities (or honesty) of a dealership (ASE) mechanic? Me, I've NEVER heard such a thing (and I worked at a Benz/Dodge "5 star" dealership).

BEER!

well i DID resolve the Alternator issue with a voltage regulator. i either had some bad wiring or a dead VR in the ECU. she charges just fine now

As for EDIS, it is an easy plugin ignition system for the time being, i am running GM coils and MSD 8.8mm wires as well. i dont foresee any issue with this combination as it has been used numerous times with MS-II and no issues. had the motor revved to about 6K already and it pulled strong with no arcing/lost spark.

the coilovers are easy, theres a howto either here on on B o o stedmopar.com or T u r b o-Dodge.com thats basically what i followed. still have to do the rears though

oh, and the ASEclub.com forum is the "Avenger Sebring Enthusiasts" not ASE mechanics

Well, got back from school and finally got the trigger wheel re-welded onto the pulley. had to use a Ni-rod and arc welding as the pulley was cast and the ring mild steel. put 4 inch or slightly longer welds to balance it out. got it to within .02" of being concentric just by eyeballing it. not too shabby. Got to play with a $7K TIG welder too, which was fun. hopefully ill get this on tomorrow and take her for another spin

I don't think you can use the stock DOHC DIS ignition with MS-ii can you? If I'm not mistaken the DOHC ignition uses both crank and cam position. I think the PTU only charges the coils, but each of the three coil packs are controlled directly from the ECM and not from a separate ignition control module. I was going to use the Ford EDIS just like Shadow24v but I didn't know about the 6k RPM limit.

As Ondonti pointed out earlier, the EDIS-8 is the one usually limited to 6K and the 6s and 4s can vary. ill see where this one lets me go, but it was easiest to implement and get working with MS-II barring the expansion boards that arnt out yet. granted its a Phord part but the EDIS system actually is well designed and set up in a good logical fashion to work with a computer. and as of right now, i probably cant/shouldn't go above 7500 in N/A trim, supercharged i may go to 8, but that's all speculative ATM

im hoping one of my 2 modules can do that later on. i am thinking of painting thuldnt go above e front of the pulley black again to hide the trigger wheel from prying eyes..... *evil laugh*

well, i painted the wheel a bit so its not as conspicuous. also swapped EDIS modules, the first one i had, wouldnt do multi-spark, but the 2nd one did. did some base tuning on the car, got it idling ok, but i have to work on accell enrichments and so on. doublechecked ignition timing in limp home and regular, all seems ok. always more to do...and never enough time lol
