did some more tuning on the car this morning. thought i messed up the motor as it started missing and wouldnt run right. heard an irratic irregular clinkish noise from the rear bank. pulled the valve cover, and the valve train is up to snuff. did a compression check next and all came in between 150-160 PSI. cyl 1 spark plug was LIGHTLY flecked, so i think it was a combination of 2 year old gas, fouled plugs and too much ignition advance causing pinging. we shall see when i go out later and try again with new plugs and a leaner fuel map...

ok, tried new plugs, leaner fuel map and a lot less ignition advance and it still doesnt run right, seems like its not firing partially or something. battery died so im down for a good couple hours (yay trickle chargers.....) and there was liquid fuel at the muffler tip. donno what the issue is, whether i have a short it the injector wiring or something.... *sigh* this is getting really frusterating

did some more troubleshooting on the car today. pulled the upper intake again and took a look at the injectors while turning the car over (w/ no spark plug wires and remote starter buttor) and the back bank is opening full-bore during cranking. no pulsing, nothing, just steady fuel, even 4 seconds after i stop turning the motor over. the front bank is fine. wacked out i say. spent a good hour with my DMM testing the flyback components and AFAIK didnt find anything amiss.... posted relavent info on my MS thread over at msefi.com and now await the advice of people better at this than i lol

so you know that the rear bank is misbehaving at least

Can you just ditch all the stuff you have wired up for the rear bank and redo it? Thats how I roll recently lol.

sounds to me like your wiring is messed up. ms grounds each bank to fire the injectors. ohm check the wire at the injectors. it should not be grounded at all times. if it is, then trace the wire using your meter for a short to ground. unless ms is screwed up and grounding that bank constantly. unplug the harness at the ms and see if the short to ground goes away.

Sounds like the injector driver for the rear injector back in shorted (FET is bad). Replace the two FETs and the FET driver and review your wiring to make sure that there are no shorts in the injector circuit and that the +12v side of the injector is tied into your fuel pump relay

ok, i dont think the MS is at fault now. I switched the ground wires for the banks so the back bank was triggering off of the channel that was triggering the front bank earlier. SAME PROBLEM. this leads me to believe i have clogged or bad injectors on the back bank. i think they got clogged due to the old fuel and that the feed from the tank hits the back bank first before going to the front bank.

as soon as my paychecks get here, im draining the tank and getting new fuel and filter, plus i bought some replacement 210cc injectors from a guy on club3g.com for $25 shipped

btw, can i say i HATE being freaking cold? it was 15* out this morning and hasnt broken 20* yet...

I guess 25 is cheaper then getting them all cleaned and flowtested. I was going to say if you messed up the rears, the fronts probably are not happy either.

well, injectors went out priority mail today, so them and i think a fuel and filter change are in order before i go any further. probably run the tank out, and add some 93 to it and hope for the best...

think its safe to jump the fuel pump straight off the battery to empty out the tank? dont want to burn it out as changing it would be a chore and a half with rust.

i suggest after you get clean fuel in the tank, clean the fuel lines out by pumping fuel through them and then into a bucket. Clean out the rails too.

yeah, sounds like a good idea, better safe than sorry. put a half gallon or so in and pump it through the lines probably.

well, i emptied the tank of about 6 gallons today by jumping the pump and using the feed line into some containers. the fuel was yellowish looking and smelled like furniture varnish. no wonder it clogged my injectors...
