I've been reading about building 3.0's with things like cams and ported heads and like that, and from what I've read it sounds like the ECU can more or less compensate at partial throttle openings, but at wide open throttle it goes to its preprogrammed map and ignores the O2 sensor.

So I was thinking. If your engine has enough mods to boost its airflow substantially, how about wiring a 7th injector to turn on at WOT like the Turbo cars can do with a 5th injector over a certain amount of boost?

Seems like it'd work to me. It may not be a precise air / fuel ratio but it's better then leaning it out too much.

I'm thinking about doing just that for my Mini's build up. I've got a sub injector controller (for a handsome price) and now I think I just need the appropriate pressure sensor and a huge 160# injector for my needs.

For the second go round I have been thinking about using a nitrous port injections system... That would make sure the fuel get's to all the cylinders...

With a wet nitrous system thats what you will have. We have 1 nozzle that injects before tb it holds the fuel and nitrous jet or (pill). The ratio of the 2 pills make up your "shot' we run a 75 shot most often. Its just like jetting a carb. We have a switch on the throttle body that turns it on at wot.

Ed is talking about a direct port setup.
