What are the gains from porting and polishing an intake plenum? (method from Kelly-Mullern website)
Thanks,

Tends to pull harder to redline. Thats the most noticable thing. In all reality its one of the best things to do if you cant just make a good custom intake manifold like brent did.

Low end power is reduced ever so slightly. But the gain you receive in the mid to upper rpm range is well worth any losses in the low end. Besides, our 3.0L motors make more torque down low than most other motors from the factory (excluding deisel)

I don't believe the dyno'ing I did with stock vs ported showed any low-end loss... Definite high-end gains.

Dyne testing

I stand correct, with the ported plenum and 60mm TB, I made more power everywhere compared to a stock TB and stock plenum.

I have my ported intake plenum sitting in my basement now. I wasn't sure if I would actually see any gains. Once I go over it with a sander to smooth it all out I'll bolt it on and see what it does
