I am not sure there is much flow difference between well ported 12-valve and the stock 24-valve setup...

they are QUOTED at 205hp and 205tq. in practicallity, a 3g will dyno around 170s to 180s in a manual, 160s to 170s in an auto. thats with a factory tune though. with a standalone or a reflash, you COULD maybe get 200whp in factory trim.

headwise, the DOHCs outflow the SOHCs in stock trim.

and the 3.5/3.0/2.5 24v SOHC heads are all interchangeable, altthough the cams differ. there is no opto sensor in the dizzy, there is a Camshaft position sensor in the dizzy (VR sensor) and a crank angle sensor that triggers once per TDC event.

were you planning on boosting the 24v? (also mind you it doesnt bolt in 100%) what did you have in mind?

for some reading see the following threads:

yes the 14 valve heads on a 12 valve block, i bought another engine with only 100.000 km. because my 150k engine is starting to burn oil, but seeing he has these parts i was thkning about
trying this, i was thinking the 12 valve timming belt would be ok,
i assume the cam gears are same size, , not sure if they the same distance from the cylinder head or not,.

the spirit is getting lighter and lighter every day, the tourke my buddies avenger got is something else, i couldent get over the way the auto lights the tires

you can bolt the 24v heads onto a 12v block, and with the 4v reliefed pistons thats out of the way. you would also need the upper and lower intakes, and some custom headers as the exhaust ports and bolt pattern are different on the 24v heads. the coolant exit is also moved to the drivers side, and you would need the TB too. and some way to control timing as the dizzy cannot be rotated at all to affect timing. Considering all that has to be done to use the 24v heads, ported 12v heads are cheap and easy.

The set on my van flowed 205 CFM, the set I am working on right now flow 235 CFM...
