It replaces the rear manifold. The flange on the upper left is for an external wastegate.

ooooooooh, ......... nice. How much and when?

I see you went with the darker, more effective coating, instead of the less effective shiny shiny one. That's good sense. It also looks rather Frankensteinish, and that seems fitting somehow.

He already has a turbo 3.0 with similar manifold. No external wastegate setup though.
Been to the track etc.
Put up good numbers considering the car weighs a lot and mike rides shotgun watching the gauges.

Yup, for the first round I put wastegate on the turbo outlet flange. For round two I moved it to the header to be compatible with a greater range of turbo exhaust housings... It also has the added benifit of being able to flow more (1.5" pipe this time.)

I am ready to start producing them. While building this one I took the time to build some jigs to make future production easier. The only lag at the moment would be having the machine shop cut the flanges. I used off the shelf flanges for this one, but I have not been completely happy with what is out there, so I am going with custom set of plasma cut flanges for less money.

I have set the price for the header at $500 (+shipping.) That includes the ceramic coating.

I am currently working on fabricating the downpipe and will hopefully have that fab'd and ready to be coated sometime next week. The downpipe should merge the wastegate pipe back in.

Yeah, traction was a problem too... I have a T3/T04B hybrid turbo to use this time. The extra lag should help some with the traction problems off the line...

Did you weld the flanges from the inside? Because it doesn't look like they're fully welded from the pic.

Yup, the pipe is fully welded on the other side of the flange. I insert the pipe through the flange, tack weld it in place then flip it over and weld it. I have found this far more effective than trying to weld it from the outside.

Hey Ed, I'm glad I was able to assist with that new manifold design. That thing just looks SOOOOOOOOOO sweet!!!!!

Can you make them with a T4 flange?

I haven't mentioned it here, but this has a standard T3 flange... To make others work, I would need the turbo to make sure I got the positioning correct. There might be some additional cost to cover the additional fabrication time.
