I am looking for some chrome rings for a stock bore 3L V6 (newer style pistons, 1.2mm, 1.5mm 3.0mm) The ones at Summit are on back order and the date moving further into the future... Anybody know of any others?

ewe why are you going with the newer style pistons?

I dont really know if chrome is the ring you want to get these days.
I guess my top rings are gapless chrome something or other.

I'm just gonna go for steel/moly.

Newer pistons make more sense for N/A. Less drag.

For forced induction you are better off with chrome rings. These rings are going into my turbocharged 3L setup...

As for why newer style pistons, because that's what was in the engine... The engine is being reringed and the crank reground (2 spun rod bearings.)

And on one final note, let's not hijack this thread. If you want to know about gapless rings, do some searches or start a thread. You gain some in a leak-down or compression test. But little to no gain in a live engine.

Ive got chrome rings in my boosted motor.
I dont really know why though.

Seems like because of newer ring technologies people talk crap on them now like they are "oldschool" and outdated.

The sites I have read indicate that chrome rings are the current recommended choice for boosted and nitrous motors.

Anyway, I am still looking for a source for the chrome rings that could have them to me soon...

My build also has gapless chrome top rings. I hope they're worth it.

Anybody, I am not necessarily looking for the same brand or gapped. Gapless would be fine, I just need stock bore and chrome.

call total seal and just have them look. Problem with ring manufacturers is that most of their rings are not application specific. I got my pistons sized to my rings but when you need a ring that fits your piston its not so easy to find what you want.

Can you get a dykes (style) chrome ring? that would be pretty cool.
