I've been talking with my local turbo re-builder cherryturbos.com about different turbo recommendations for a 3.0 with some decent flowing heads, He wasn't too crazy about the idea of running more then 15psi through a motor and started talking sodium filled exhaust valves for 20+ psi. What kind of boost levels do you guy plan to achieve and what, if anything, do you plan to do with the exhaust valves? I got quoted a custom hybrid of a holset HX35 with a T04 compressor on it for $1200.00 CDN! I might just run an HX35 and be done with it. What do you guys think?

I'd figure the stock ones would prolly hold up to sane boost levels if you had bronze guides put in.

Those do not look cheap. I'm quite certain I will use the stock valves but I was just curious about what other people would do.

Buy a normal turbo.

even if you upgrade valves I really dont think you need sodium filled valves.

They are filled with sodium because they are trying to make the valve lighter yet still have good heat qualities.

aka nothing to do with turbocharging boost pressures.
