Hi, im new to the site but not to turbo dodges, i have a question about an oil return line. Im building a 3.0l turbo 5 speed in a 94 shadow, my question is can i run the oil return line into the the large bolt in the front of the oil pan, or is this to low in the pan and will not drain correctly

I might be wrong but I think that bolt replaces the oil level sensor that is available on some cars. If that's true, I'd think that the oil level would normally be around that spot so it would be too low.

Its to low.

I dont think they ever installed an oil level sensor in any cars, they just decided to never simplify the design.

I just use that big bolt as another place to put a good magnet.

Don't drink and weld it now w/o taking the pan off. While it's off if you want an AWESOME oil pan gasket, felpro makes a Permadry one for 55 bucks that will be better than anything else you'll use.

With "right stuff" RTV you dont need an oil pan gasket and being the best stuff on the market it wont leak.

Right Stuff works great. Really convenient, like cheese whiz gasket in a can, and it really holds up.

it is good silicone, but seriously NOTHING like the felpro permadry. I am amazed a company makes something so nice for our motors. I would bet anything that I won't have one single leak. (knock on wood)

um, right stuff is never going to leak.

Anyone who has tried to pull something apart that they used right stuff on knows what I am talking about

I just wouldnt buy a 50 dollar oil pan gasket when a can of right stuff can do 6+ oil pans for 16 bucks.....and you should use it for any rtv application you need anyways.

I usually end up wasting money when it comes to buying stuff at the parts store without spending 50 on a gasket.

I wish they made some nice exhaust gaskets.

I personly prefer gaskets (one piece rubber ones) with rtv in the the corners over complete rtv gaskets, but thats just me
