Thanks for all the info guys, the flywheel is definitely the next thing on my list. It might take a little longer than I hoped to be able to afford it though. With the holidays comes slow business and less work for me.

Damn thread's gettin long ! , I've recently gotten rid of a 96 Quad whore grand am (leaking WP as usual) for a tidy profit.

I may also be staring at a fidanza in the near future , but here's a question slightly off topic, how would one use a ALU wheel in a RWD configuration , aka liberty bell/supra trans setup ? spacers ?

I just got my flywheel in the mail from TU, those guys are great. They sent it next day air for no extra charge. This flywheel looks awesome, I can't wait to put it on.

I was considering one of these as well for my 2.5 turbo. This is probably what I will spend that fancy tax rebate check on. I think this engine will gain a lot with the aluminum flywheel. I have mostly a street car so launch is not an issue. I'm just wondering how well it'll work after 20,000+ miles of daily driving.

I have my own theories on how well the flywheel will work, but of course, I have to find out for myself. My 2.5 turbos don't bog between shifts. It'll lay rubber going to the next gear (with the appropriate clutch). Actually, even more effectively than my V-6 Daytona. I like the V-6's instant throttle response. There is no lag, no fooling around.

My twin turbo 6G72 winds up nothing like a N/A SOHC 6G72 does. The SOHC is instant throttle response. My TT engine revs very very much like my 2.5 turbos do... must slower.

>> Chrysler 6g72's have real harmonic dampeners that the Mitsubishi's dont have so
>>they already have more protection from the factory.

My Stealth has one, which is purely a Mitsubishi car. My brain has different knowledge (If you want to call it knowledge) of what harmonic dampers are actually for. I am not going there.

Fidanza aluminum flywheel failure... dunno why. Could be installer error.

mitsu's have a large crank pulley with some rubber between the pulley center and the belt pattern....but its not quite like a chrysler harmonic dampener.
They have fights on 3Si.org about people replacing the stock pulley with aluminum underdrive pulleys that have no dampening properties like the expensive stocker.
