93 Daytona ES, 3.0 A543

It's for my younger brother. He just bought it today. It has a good body and interior. Almost no rust. The underbody is awesome for its age. The only major problem is a bad head gasket. I am going to help him fix it. He wants to mod it and take it to the strip this year. I am going to use my knowledge and experience to teach him how to turn it into a monster. He wants to follow in my footsteps

3.0L A543 5 speed FTW!!!!!!!!

The basic bolt ons for now:

* 52mm or 58mm throttle body
* CAI
* port the lower intake and plenum
* 2.5" exhaust
* underdrive crank pulley
* possibly a fidanza aluminum flywheel

Future mods:
* engine rebuild with 10:1 compression or higher
* port and polish heads
* custom cams
* performance ECU (if FWDperformance makes it)

probably more stuff I can't think of right now.

The car should be able get into the 14's at the track.

I also forgot to mention the car only has 136k miles. According to the title, the car only put on about 3,000 miles since 2002. No wonder the underbody is awesome.

I always recommending having the heads milled and pressure checked while the head is off. Saves you the effort of pulling the head later...

car looks really good. Missing its wheels but better to be missing the easiest to replace part.

Pull both heads.
Do the valve seals and cam seals while the heads are off.
Water pump and timing belt may not be a bad idea either.....

$400 is a GREAT deal! Black or grey interior?
Congrats to your brother too, btw. :)

Awesome deal! And it's black too, great color. What color is the interior? I would pull both heads and have them planed at the very least and valve seals inspected. Water pump and timing belt too as previously mentioned. Have any parts left over? Maybe toss some Diamante cams in it too. good luck

It has grey interior.

The project begins on Saturday. The car is still at the sellers house. It is going to be towed to my brothers place.

I can't wait to tear into that engine.
