Ok, it's been a long time and for those who aren't familiar with the story, here it is in a nutshell.
I ordered cam gears from Tearstone (they were Adjustable RPW cams) and the website stated "SOHC adjustable cam gears". I purchased them and almost 2 months later they arrived. Not so much a problem because I wasn't ready for them yet and I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they were coming from Australia and so on. Then I realized they weren't right. I found out after talking to RPW through E-mail that I in fact received cam gears for the 24v SOHC. Why it didn't specify on Tearstone's website is beyond me, but hey, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I sent them back and now have been waiting almost 2 months again with practically no information, tracking number, returned phone calls, etc. I have left probably 10x more messages than they have returned. It's like they're never there. The voicemail claims that they will return phone calls w/in 24 hours but I guess they aren't about taking care of the customer once they have your money. I ordered from them in the first place because they were based out of my state (FL) and I figured I'd get decent service. I can't believe that they are this unprofessional. They have my $300 dollars and you'd think as a business they'd expedite the parts because of the inconvenience the first time...nope. I have been more patient with this situation than ever, but now I am losing my cool. I really did feel comfortable doing business with them even after receiving the wrong gears initially, but customer follow-up is extremely important in keeping customers and owning a business in general no matter what you're selling. My motor has been on hold for so long because of this and I can't express my dissatisfaction enough with the way this situation has come about PRIMARILY because there is NO follow-up and NO returned phone calls. I leave my number EVERY time I leave a message and make sure to speak clearly. There is NO excuse for this whatsoever. I hate speaking badly about a company, but this has gone way too far.
Had to vent, and I am open to opinions and suggestions.

are you talking about Russ at Tearstone or the people at RPW in Australia? because i know that Tearstone gets some of their 24v parts from RPW as they are a distributor and i have had only good experiences with Russ. He would answer my emails within a day or less when i had some issues with my 24v and was seeking advice so *shrug*
i have heard that RPW (not tearstone) can be a PITA to get ahold of

RPW is great. They have MSN messenger and can be contacted almost always.
RPW is the only reason dusty knows his order was messed up because tearstone isnt much of a business.
My order sat with RPW because tearstone doesnt know what they are doing when they place orders. I had to ask RPW to get my parts finished and shipped.
Tearstone.....Russ.......please there is no such person who ever answers the phone. The stupid receptionist biatch gets pissy the few times she does answer the phone.
Not interested in someone named Russ who is selling parts on some 3G eclipse forum when they dont pick up their darned phone. Crooked business when all you do is accept money and stop being a business after you get the cash.

I call because I should speak with someone immediately. When a voicemail says, " we will return your phone call w/in 24hours" and doesn't for weeks, there is a serious problem. They recognized the error and were nice enough to take them back and I was patient, but when calls aren't returned and nobody follows up with orders and customers, that is really bad business.

"hearing" good things and then dealing with things are different. Have you ever ordered anything from them?

i know what you mean, most of the things ive heard about them are from the 3g website, which tearstone caters to mostly, and ive taken it with a grain of salt. Although, i still think that if one contact method doesnt work (phone) i would have added others such as emails, PMs etc, but thats me. You are right that such delays in response to phone calls is uncalled for. you might still try emailing Russ directly with the address i posted and see if you get a reply *shrug* couldnt hurt IMHO

Pesting RPW seems more effective. I had to trash Tearstone a bit to them because of my experience.
RPW says a lot of people buy direct. I would never buy something from tearstone again.

only reason i was considering them is they were selling the RPW cams for 850 and RPW lists them for 1000 (could be the AU vs US dollar *shrug*) and such things as fidanza cam gear sets for sub $200. I may just source elsewhere then if he keeps screwing around. hmmm, i may see about a regrind instead, its cheaper

fidanza doesn't make a gear for the 12v. And the AU dollar is worth less than the US dollar, so that too.

Well, Bobbi got in touch w/ me. Looks like a miscommunication between them and RPW. They're just being sent out, so looking forward to seeing them in 2 weeks! :sigh: At least I have a date and something to look forward to now.
