Just make sure if you _do_ end up actually getting some boost at WOT that you end up getting enough fuel too. Stock ECU ought to be able to handle a couple pounds safely though.

I'd like to see this on Mythbusters... they did it with the "300 mpg" carburetor.

I should bolt one to my 70cc engine that I am bolting to my bicycle. Maybe 70cc is small enough to get one psi from that thing.

I just don't think it is the right time yet. Maybe in the future we will have some new things. We got the procharger, I don't think that was out too long ago. Keep up hope and drink. Ideas come with drinking. leaf blower?

haha but you are gonna need a battery then

Seriously, for a 3.0L engine you need SOOOO much airflow to keep up with engine demand.

I saw a video of a little car, such as a Honda with a leaf blower on it. It actually made about 10 WHP on the dyno LOL

Of course, that is with the leaf blower plugged into the wall. There is no reasonable way to generate that kind of electricity from the engine.

I beleive the video you saw was of a Honda on a dyno and they used a GAS leaf blower on the intake hose. Yes, it did make some power over stock, but you also have to remember that a gas leaf blower moves a huge volumetric amount of air at high velocity. On the same video they did it to a Chevy truck with a 4.3 V6, it also made more power over stock with the gas leaf blower.

I remember that video. It seemed like a joke when it came on, but amazingly it generated a few horsepower. I can already tell you that leaf blower was moving more air than a simple 12v fan can. Leaf blower is like having a tiny tropical storm blowing wind into your intake. 12v motor is more like someone blowing really hard into a paper towel tube in comparison.

Just having a straight motor tied to the current will not spin it fast enough. But if you could compound the speed then it'd be more effective. Maybe have a drive gear turning a different sized wheel in the compressor. Don't know if a simple electric motor will generate the torque to spin a gear assembly fast enough though. At least not a motor that could be conveniently placed under the hood of the car.

the problem with electric is that the boost is high at low RPM and low at high RPM. boost air when your idling will drop the vac numbers and the computer will dump fuel into the engine and kill mileage. Set up the electric blower to come on at WOT with a Nitrous switch, the rest of the time it can idle and not effect your engine. I have a small 553 Bobcat I was thinking of sticking this on, I still may. But it has a tiny 3 cylinder and also needs low RPM grunt. If the blower gives boost at high RPMS with the switch keep it, no boost at high RPMs? Remove it and stick it on a lawn mower. You hit the tall grass and hit the button hehe.

That's the idea, hook it up to a switch so I can turn it on at certain times.

It has been so long since I saw that video, I completely forgot it was a gas blower.

I still do not believe it will do anything but hurt performance on a 3.0L engine. There is no way in hell that thing is going to work. Like the pope said, maybe on a lawnmower, but that's about it.
