Need to update the available parts list. Had a shifter cable break on me this morning while driving to work while passing a row of 3 cars, during a 3500 rpm 4-5 gear change. One moment it was fine, the next moment the shifter is falling around loose.

It was the right side cable that selects ratios in each gate, like 1-2, 3-4, and 5-R. The left side gate selector cable is fine. The actual metal end of the cable broke right at the edge of the plastic end in the shifter.

Fortunately since the console was already in the back seat from an aborted heater core swap job, once I looked at it for a minute, I realized I could grab the broken cable end and move it by hand for 3rd and 4th gear. Shifting across the gates to either 1-2 or 5-R requires 2 hands.

Other than that, I will be getting another car this weekend and then someone can buy this car and part it out or whatever.

PS - haven't had any offers yet, what's up with that? I thought people here would be going crazy to be the one to get a COMPLETE (except for a shifter cable now) 5 speed V6 swap kit all in one place.

Not to mention the other choice parts, like the custom ground cams, low mile engine, 2-1/2" exhaust system, etc........

I think you aren't getting a lot of offers, because this is actually fraud against the finance company. You can't sell a car that doesn't belong to you where I come from.

No it's not, it's MY car and always was. They can still have the car body if it ever came to that, they are just not getting the good parts. And I have no place to store them, at least not for long. All they really have is a piece of paper and a VIN tag, if even that much. They have no actual ownership claim.

Actually, let me expound on this a bit more so you can see my logic. I owned the car 1-1/2 years before any of the big mods were done to it. So things like the motor and transmission and associated parts were added by me after purchase, much like other people would add a seat cover or a short throw shifter or a ricer muffler or stupid looking bling bling chrome rims.

No one in their right mind would get rid of such parts just because they were on the car when the time to get rid of the car came, right? They'd keep the parts they added and sell them seperately for more money and get rid of the car itself as a seperate object.

Well, same thing here, except my parts are the entire drivetrain. Car won't run after removing my parts? Oh well, it's not my problem.

Whoever gets it shouldn't even look at it as buying a car, they're just buying the drivetrain parts. They can pull them out here with the car sitting at a local junkyard, or they can get them alll in one unit, which simply happens to be bolted into the car body.

And I don't want to go through the hassle of disassembly and eBay and shipping, but I will if I have to.

I'd like to get $750 for all that, you come here (about 45 minutes NE of Pittsburgh) and you do all the disassembly work. It's still a running driving car right now.
