I think a double walled, rubber air dam, would be strong enough at the "high speeds" this thing will move at. It's never going to be actually fast. It's just a van.

I don't think a lip where you want it is going to really do anything. There is no high velocity airflow there to take advantage of it and I don't think it would be enough to overcome the vortex and huge vacume area behind the van.

I'd personally stick with the Lund and possibly some side deflectors as has recently been brought up.

As for the fron air dam...I don't know what front end you have on your van, but the "ES" vans had a nice lower air dam on them already. Now, for our purposes it wasn't low enough. I'd suggest finding some high impact plastic and shaping the air dam out of that. I know the late model circle track guys almost built the entire skins of their cars with this stuff, and it works REALLY well...so I'd look for that.

Antoher option is the older full-size Chevy trucks had a lower lip inder the bumper that just might do the trick too!

I think you are right about that back gate lip idea. My new Lund deflector is in the mail now, I hope, and I will experiment with vertical side deflectors.

Here is my front cowl. Too much shadow to really see how far down it goes, since it was lowered, but I am sure you have seen a 2nd gen Caravan before, and so you get the idea.

I want to extend a lip down underneath it to 2" from the ground. I want to use hard rubber, so it can take getting blipped once in while, when I hit those little curb ends while parking. The way I park, if I make it out of anything breakable, then I will definitely soon break it.

I can't afford to make it into a dependable streetable turbo mini, and I wont try to do it halfazzed. I am just going to have be satisfied with having a nice highway cruiser. That's what I started out to do anyway.

Ooofff...2" is LOW!!! My Daytona's front is higher than that(not by much though).

I can see the picture ok. You already have the style front bumper I was talking about. I think that if you look at the 90's Chevy/GMC full-size trucks, the front lips some of those got might be a good way to go...

Hey thanks Reaper. I will look into that. Maybe 3.5" then. I'll know it when I see it.
