Stock fram on right.
The two on left are from 1970's dodge 440 pickup trucks. I used the blue one in the center and replaced it with the one on the left because the carquest guy fround the middle sized one and then the larger so I picked the obvious :P
Luckily we have a lot of room for the oil filter. I didnt get the brand I wanted but this was an emergency oil change.
BTW the filters on my moms 1.8L camry are TINY. They are like one of those micro apple juice cans.

What micron does the carquest filter?
The 89-91 used smaller filters than 92+ so I use the 92+ filters, and for awhile I used the K&N Filters but then dropped to using just the Advanced Auto which are like rebranded puralators or fram, forget which one. I can get like 6 Advance auto filters for the price of 1 K&N filter

with my 24v swap, i had to go with a remote filter kit, im running a PH8A type K&N oil filter. i want to say its over twice the size of the stock 24v filter (which was smaller than the 12v anyways) so i should have some good filtration :-D

I have no idea about the filtration. I like the STP because on that old oil filter test it was one of the decent ones. No autozone near my parents house though (there is one 8 blocks from my house) so I went to what was close to where i was on my travel route for errands. Would have gone to napa but I had already passed it.
There is zero point to using a stock filter as the larger ones cost the same.

Those Advanced Auto 'sure grip' filters are rebranded Purolator Pure One filters, at least for right now, and that is what I am using during ARX treatments.
Two oil changes after, this second Auto-Rx treatment, I plan to use Mobil 1 extended performance filters. By the way, the K&N filter is the exact same thing, for few dollars more, except they have that handy nut at the end.
You can read about it here.

Like I posted.
Ask for the oil filters for a 440cubic inch Dodge truck. There are two of them. Pick the bigger one
Your oil pressure will thank you

I think i will stick with the carquest one. its larger and a WIX
The S8a is also a dodge 440 360 etc ec filter.
Soooo many different motors use similar oil filters. It sucks when someone builds a new engine with wierd new filters sizes/threads that cant be upgraded easily by using one from another motor.

WIX filters are good, but you may want to read this about WIX filters.
Of the 5 Purolator Premium Plus filters we opened up, during all the ARX treatment I am doing on my engine, all of them had a good coil spring, silicone anti drain back valves and lots of pleated surface area. So it appears the MMFS site is pretty close to up to date.

Those diesel engine filters are HUGE!!! Especially compared to those toyota 4cyl filters that are smaller than an 8oz can of soda!! I don't know how they even work without getting clogged within 2000miles.

The Fram PH8A (or an equivalent) will spin right onto the filter flange of the 3.0L engine. There is ample room between the filter & the rad. That model filter has been the staple filter for nearly all of Chryslers V8 & inline 6 engines for almost 50 years. It's what I use on my 6. There is a shorter model , the PH43, same internals, used on the 340 enigines due to space restrictions, but, bigger IS better.
