They only have 4 33# injectors which should only be good for 220whp or so.....and of course they get a little more then that. they are 220hp from the factory and with a few simple mods can easily put that down on the dyno and more.
That last 1% of fuel is proportionally bigger than the prior 1%'s. When the flow through the injector is not stopped and restart, big gains in flow happen.

I just think that a lot of the talk I have seen over the years about fuel requirements was incorrect.

Everyone always said "bigger injectors etc etc etc" but that only applies when you have used up what you already have.....anyone without a turbo or crazy mods certainly hasnt
Yup, most people don't need larger injector. The ecu just dials them down...

That said Ed, I still like the idea of being safe.
I dont think a 230whp 3.0 should try to use the stock injectors (assuming only using rising rate regulator for extra fuel) or stock pump.
A little less then that and it will probably be fine for a few million miles. :P

think the stock injectors would do 230 whp with megasquirt, being able to change the duty cycles and so on

Depends what the duty cycle starts at....and that is based on 90psi fuel pressure..which is way to high for constant use IMO. Something that is turbo friendly cause if you are in boost all the time you will kill yourself.

For n/a engines, pick the right size injector...especially if you already have megasquirt and dont need to cheat on fuel.

I am certainly don't recommend turboing with the stock injectors. Like you, Just saying most light moded 3L need larger injectors. I am certainly running larger injectors on my turbo 3L...

Specifications we use are totally unhelpful for 4 cylinders.

The use of fuel pressure (and most specifically with a rising rate regulator) is very applicable though.

You can stretch out 4 cylinder stock injectors with a rising rate regulator.....but better injectors and a Cal probably carry similar costs and the Rising rate regulator is never something I would choose over a cal. The old school TD guys used to have rising rate regulators as one of their great tricks before calibrations were so widely available.
