Well I think signals from the ECU is all we should work with.

Manipulating info sent to the ECU just isnt reliable..and looking at the stock calibrations in Dcal shows that there isnt much to work with unless you just manipulate the stock cal (which would be great).

I think the only manipulation that should be done there is preventing the ECU from adapting. Then you can keep your good tune without having it slowly lean out. .

This weekend I started the install of a Greddy e-Manage I purchased off of ebay (was originally setup for an RX-8.) For stage 1 I have only installed the "airflow modifier" portion. (ie it adjusts the MAP signal that the ECU sees.)

I installed an EGT thermocouple in the front exhaust manifold for exhaust gas temperature. For engine vacuum, I am reading my scantool.

Before the e-Manage EGTs spiked to ~1560F at red-line (too hot.) Engine vacuum (as measured on my scantool) peaked at 2" Hg at red-line with a 70mm TB.

After I installed the e-Manage and tuned it some, EGT maxed to 1460F at red-line and "vacuum" was 0" Hg at red-line. So the e-Managed is lieing to the ECU and there was a significant improvement in EGT.

Next up, I plan on trying to do the piggy-back control of the fuel injectors. I also have a 5-sp ECU on the way to increase the max RPM...

The e-Manage can be wired right up to the sensors on our motors right? Sounds like it could work well.

Yup, that's the way I am wiring it. So far the e-Manage has been easy to install and tune.

The one question I have right now is if I can get the e-Manage to work with my low-impedance injectors that are on my '91. I have some 10ohm 10 watt resistors that I will be wiring in.

If that does not work, I will use the e-Managed to controll an auxillary injector.

Would high-impedance injectors work? You could easily swap yours.

Hmmm there's a mod for putting high impedance on low impedance electrics? or only with the eManage mediating it?
