There was a guy who put in a DOHC v6 from a stealth but never finished it, unless there is another guy I didn't know about.

Somebody swapped a 3.0 into a k-car too. If I ever decide that my Spirit is too rusty I might have to put all my parts in a k car or L body. It's definitely do-able, you would just need some wire diagrams.

I gutted my 3.0 V6 94 Duster down to 2450 lbs and gave it a home made ram air, under drive pulley kit, bigger TB, and better exhaust....it ran 15.teens. Save your money and boost a 2.5!

Or....do a 3.5 with 250 hp conversion and make it rear wheel drive!

Or...do a SRT4 stage 3 conversion with toys for 355 hp!!!!!

Josh ran 14.2@97mph without drag radials in his 3.0 P body. His gutted car was heavier then yours with him in it.

My 3.0 Spirit ran 14.8@92. Faster then Cliffs slicked P body and your P body. On All season tires, only 2.2x 60's. Much heavier too!
The old 3.0 track numbers just dont stand up anymore for comparisons against the "beloved" td's.

Some of the conversions you are talking about are not cheap, and would get annihilated by a megasquirted turbo 3.0 that would cost about the same. Not to mention all those options are very labor intensive.

Also, since this is the 3.0 section, those comments dont really fly anymore. The old days are gone.

^ agreed 100% A mildly built N/A 3.0 is good for 14's. Probably high 13's in a light car like an Omni. Hopefully my Spirit will be deep in the 14's with the new motor. I'm smoking 15 second cars on the street so it's definitely there.

I would love a 3.0 omni. I just dont want to deal with an omni that has 4 lug hubs.

I must ad here that after I bought my 94 Duster with 3.0 I was beside te salesman at a light and he just flat walked away from me with a bone stock Spirit 3.0 compared to my stock Duster. The Spirit has the same drive train, but when I checked in with the parts dept the only difference we found was the ECU.....so maybe the Spirit has more ECU released HP. When Car and Driver did a road test a few months apart of a 3.0 Daytona it ran the same ETs as the lighter Shadow with same drive pkg....Their tests of the 3.0 Spirit compared the same too.

Like I stated, to go fast, just boost it....or add 150 hp nitrous shot to a 14.0 car and if the total wt of car & driver is 2700 lbs or less you will be in the 11's!

I think all of us running 14's are running P body or daytona 5 speed manual ECU's.
I have had both ECU's at the track while datalogging wideband and EGT. The manual ECU was faster and fatter.

Where those SBEC2 ECU's? I run my original SBEC1 ECU that was setup for a ATX tranny, I always figured that the SBEC1 would just raise the rev limiter in the MTX ECU's.
