Alright well i got a 88 daytona that i have been trying to find time to put a motor in. well the other day i was looking around at a junkyard and seen that there are a toooon! or 3.0 and 3.3 motors. so what i was wondering how hard it is to put a 3.0 motor and turbo it. what would i have to do pretty much, or is it even worth it, and should just put an 2.2t back in?
Thanks,
Cody

no, the bell housings are different between the 2.2/2.5 and the 3.0. you should be able to go junkyrd hunting and find a daytona/lebaron/shadow/sundance with a 3.0 5-speed (A543) or pick one up from someone on here or the "other" site. Ondonti is using a later model trans (91+, 3.77 FD) in his monstrous turbo rustbucket and i have the same one behind my 24v 3.0 at around 200whp N/A so it will hold up just fine.

if you want to stay Auto, you CAN get the a670 or a604 (i forget which one is better if you build it right) built up but thats a bit more costly than slapping a 5-speed in your car

yes i would be using a 5-speed trans, im not much on auto trans. but other then trans and alittle motor mount work i should be fine i believe, or i hope haha im really happy to start this swap. my 87 daytona has a turboll motor in it, and dont get me wrong, i love it! but i think there is more to do with a 3.0 myself
