anyways, it looks like your missing a few components on the V3.0 board, but you should be OK (not too expensive and DIY sells replacement components). The fact you have the blue v3.0 board means you can upgrade to the MS-II process or and the MS-II/Extra code to have a better setup. It also looks like he added constant barometric correction by the 2nd MAP sensor under the proto board.

I'm not sure how he had the DIS set up but depending on what you do to it, it COULD be made to work (not sure exactly how though)

from what i read in the emails is that he added constant broro correction and a tach output and what components would i be missing from what he said is he ran his car on this computer so was wondering what it could be missing and what all would i need to buy to upgrade to ms2

the stock fuel rail will work but you will need a fuel pressure reg and a fitting kit from 3sx.

also the KIA coils have their own ignitor so you may not need to use the coil packs you have if you have 3 coil drivers coming out of the board. if you can use the KIA coils it will make plug wires and coils easier to replace when needed.

My comment was based on some components not soldered to the board. Some people don't assemble all the possible circuits on the MS if they aren't needed.

IIRC I think he put the igniters in the GM module and ran it direct from the MS. If that is the case, you can probably leave the GM module part out and use the Kia coils directly if they have built-in ignitors as knightmoves indicates.

stock fuel system can probably hold up to an N/A application just fine. The stock FPR on the motor should be OK as well, provided its a return style, not a returnless like some newer cars

well he never ran those coils it was just an upgrade that he was planning on doing. so would i be able to wire up the kia coils to the ms1 or would i have to upgrade to ms2 to do that.

and i was just asking if the stock fuel rail was a return system or a returnless system

A 3 teeth with 3 missing teeth? I think you are trying to describe the 3 tooth wheel. A missing tooth would be where you would expect to see a tooth there is a blank space.

Anyway, the 3 tooth wheel works well with a distributor. To run it DIS you would need to wire in the cam sensor... Right now I am not seeing a performance advantage to running DIS. The only reason I might consider it right now is because the #1 plug wire is very close to the exhaust header on my setup...

I am not 100% sure, but most vehicles were returnless by the 2000. You will need to modify the rails to be return since the MS can not PWM the fuel pump.

ok so gotta buy the adapter fittings for the fuel rail and still haved to come up with something for the ignition cause the motor i am getting doesnt run a distributor i need to figure out how to run wasted spark so i am thinking a 36-1 toothed wheel and what ever mods are needed for the ms to work

the SOHC 3.5 or DOHC 3.0TT fuel rails should swap over and provide a bolt-on return fuel system

well those 3.0 tt motors are far and few between here and i also have no clue what those 3.5 sohc motors came in

usually diamante's or montero's. you should be able to find them fairly easily in a j-yard or the rails on 3si.org / ebay.

if you use the 36-1 wheel and the MS1 you will need no more mods to run the motor. BUT if you want to the 3 toothed wheel and cam sensor you'll need to add the cam sensor circuit on the board. 87turbodance may have added it. I think he was thinking about the cam sensor. I will try to contact him and see if he can chime in and help!

there isnt a cam sensor in it i think cause there would be no need for it since it was on a 12 valve motor

so i will just get a 36-1 toothed wheel for the fact of not having to change anything in the ms
