Just noticed a knocking sound from the engine. Can only hear it when I'm next to another car. Happens if I'm driving or if I'm idling. If I put the car in Park, though, the noise stops.
Checked the oil and the transmission fluid. Both are full. Transmission fluid looked a little thin, though, like it was a pinkish color instead of a red color.
Car is 2003 Dodge Caravan SE 3.3L with 90,000 miles on it.
Yeah, now that I think about it, mine was audible twice tonight, both times when I stopped. I thought the reason I didn't hear it when I was driving was because there wasn't a car next to me to reflect the sound back to me. But maybe it was only knocking when I stopped.
But, like I said, it did stop immediately when I put the car in Park. Did yours do that too?
Again, this is not a regular noise. I've had the car for 10 years, and this is the first time I've heard that noise. That usually means something is wrong.
