I think I figured out why my car is running crappy. I was examining the plug wires and noticed that the plug on the far right doesn't screw down as far as the rest. It's also sticking out at a different angle. So, could someone with a 2.2 turbo please check for me to see if theirs is the same way? I bet I have a crossthreaded plug hole. Thanks all--Marvin

Yeah that doesn't sound good. Examine the threads and compare it to a good hole. You may have to chase the thread out with a tap... or it might be toast.

Yep cross threaded mine drops right down you might be able to center it but you might strip it out. I say run a tap and die and rethread it

Well, I took my car to the shop Friday and they fixed the sparkplug hole and the car actually ran worse! Then he found that the timing belt had slipped a tooth. I ordered a new one from Rockauto but then I realized I should have also ordered a tensioner. Car has 180K miles. I know I saw a thread on the easiest way to change a belt but I can't find it again. Does anyone remember seeing it? Thanks all-Marvin
