for anyone who's been paying attention to my plight over the last two months... the car has been god awful rich and just plain sucking out... friend of mine solved the problem tonight. they put the same gm 3bar into a turbo civic and messed the car up... starting searching the net and found that on a gm 3bar, part #12223861 the 5v and ground are swapped... so instead of a=5v, b=signal, c=ground... it's a=ground, b=signal, c=5v. this is a very important piece of info to know.

ps. oh my god is my car fast... gone driving, ian

Hmmm, you've got a weird MAP. The Turbo 3.8's have the wires in exactly the same spot as our cars.

that's why i didn't try this sooner... i checked the wiring diagrams for the 3.8 gm map and it was deffinetly the same... then my friend found this page... i guess it must've been a production error or something... just put 200km on the car and i'm frigin' thrilled with how it runs, can't wait to see what it does on the dyno

no codes... car was showing 1" of vacuum at idle... which sadly, is in spec for the 3bar, it also never changed, so whether it was at idle or wide open, it was giving the amount of gas it would based on 1"hg. either way... i promise you my car is fixed... little bit high idle, but someone told me it's likely cause of the s60 cam

Wow, well thats good to know.

As for high idle, usually S60 cams is supposed to give you a bit of a lumpy idle, and the vacuum is definately lower over a stock cam.

According to the site below, our connectors are the same as the "new" gm 3 bar map; A=ground, B=signal, C= 5-Volt.

I've been looking at the info here and searched the rest of the forums in here too, but in order to use a 3 bar you need the separate CAL right?

I have an 87 GN and I know that the aftermarket MAP's are 'touchy" anyway. Are you using it with the other CAL?

Yes, you need a custom cal to run a 3bar map.

Here's what I have written down:
stock MAP is:
A=5v
B=signal
C=ground

3 Bar MAP is:
A=Ground
B=Signal
C=5v

A,B,C are on the connector for those that don't know.
