HELP Car cranks but will not start. I've got fuel and spark at each plug, timing is on, hall effect is ok and all wires hooked up as they shoud be. The only thing I have found is the speed sensor is loose (it will rotate in it's socket), is this a possible problem? If so is there a certain position it goes in? Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks, Dan

Its not the speed sensor. How do you know you have fuel at the cylinder? Fuel pressure? Codes?

Is the cam tunrning when you crank (timing belt problem)? Did it just quit or were you working on the car? Give some more info.

Fuel at the cylinders, I don't know if or how to check for that. No codes. The timing belt is turning. Did not check fuel pressure.
I parked the car on Sat. afternoon and it would not start Sunday afternoon.

OK, you really need to get a fuel pressure. The pump can be running, but still may be pumping very little fuel. Thats first thing. If youve got a nice 55 PSI, than make sure the injectors are firing. You can purchase a universal "noid" light at a parts store. It is essentially a test light that goes into the injector harness where it plugs into the injector.

The other thing you should check is the cam timing. Bring it up on number 1 TDC (looking through the bell housing) and make sure that the arrows on the cam gear line up with the cam journal caps. (Refer to thedodgegarage.com if you dont know what im talking about.)

Also, make doubly sure that you have spark at each cylinder, not just off the coil.

Theres only a handful of things the motor needs to run.....fuel, spark, and compression. So, if youre sure its getting spark at each cylinder, move on to fuel like I described. If youre sure each cylinder is getting fuel, than move on to compression, starting with cam timing. If its not cam timing, than youve got to start looking at actual compression numbers on cylinders to check for burnt pistons, bad headgasket, burnt valves, etc.

PM me if you need more help.
