tps maybe

when i am driving my car and in any gear but best is felt in 4th or 5th.. if i put my foot 3/4 the way down to the floor my car starts pulling hard (like usual) but when i put my foot right to the floor my car backs off a little.. and feels like its falling on its face untill i take my foot off the pedal a lil and it starts picking back up... would this be a dead tps sensor.. if so what are the voltages supposed to be read when warm from the tps on a 3.0l v6

sounds to me like a fuel mixture issue. O2 sensor controls the mixture up to almost full throttle, at wide open throttle the computer ignores the O2 and uses a preset calculation for fueling. If you want to check the TPS I believe it should be about .7-1.1V at closed and above 4.3V at wide open(engine off of course). See if it sweeps voltage evenly. I would venture to say a plugged fuel filter or low fuel pressure though.... Hook up to the O2 and monitor voltage on a test drive....volts will sweep 100 to 900mv range up to WOT, at WOT should be above 850mv....

thanks tomrrow ill give it a try.. plus the top of my gas tank is rotten and i think theres a hole in it.. so it wouldnt suprise me if the feul filter is clogged.. another thing.. is when my engine is cold it pulses the revs.. like almost dead then snaps up to about 1200 then back to almost dead then snaps up again.. and keeps doing it untill its off of choke
