Are the battery terminals in good condition? Good connection at the alternator? Good ground to the side of the block and at the fuel rail? Sound's to me like your loosing a connection some where.

is the little pushrod under the steering column straight & not bent? if it's bent it won't give full power to the ignition/starter wire causing it to not start intermittentantly. just a thought that's an easy check.

i'm having the same problem right now to though, only it never starts. brand new (reman) starter only lasted me 1 week. it sounds like the starter solenoid makes the usual loud CLICK when i crank the key, i've checked the pushrod, yellow wire has 12v underdash, big wire at starter has 12v and seems to be grounded just fine. couldn't test the little wire at the starter, no one was home to crank the key last night. thoughts?

I think for your problem try a used stsarter that you know works? I put a different starter in mine and it fixed that part of it, but it still cuts out while im driving it.
