so since the car has been sitting i need to do somethings to get it going heres the list as far as i know
my question is do i have to do anything else or are any of these unnecessary
also where is the best place to get some of the things like plugs and wires vacuum lines/t's etc. (just regular auto parts store like napa or autozone??)

new trans (found a used one)

oil change

somehow drain gas and replace (either siphon or my brother said we could take the tank out but i don't know about that)

brake fluid change

coolant change

check brake pads (nothing siezed up i checked that part cause we had to
drag the car a few houses down from where it was)

possibly new tires (they aren't dry rotten or bald so that could technically wait)

new vacuum lines (they are cracked and a couple are broke completely.....)
maybe a vacuum manifold....

spark plugs (maybe?)
spark plug wires (maybe?)

is there any way to check the distributor cap/rotor (and/or the coil) without starting the car??

ac del bracket (i took the ac system out cause it didn't work and the cars a convertible anyway) (same guy that has the trans)

heres some other stuff that isn't needed but i was thinking about doing
pcv catch can (a set up kinda like that one on the srt forums)

grainger type manual boost controller (same guy that has the trans)

dawes device or other a/f gauge (prolly should have to go with the grainger)

maybe an egt gauge (i found one for $112 (gauge and clamp on type probe) at Pegasus racing)

how about one of those cut out controllers made from a grainger valve.... (or should i not get that till after i decide I'm defiantly gonna do more fuel and bump the boost aka pointless for right now)

Id run it after you drain the tank (you can jump the fuel pump and just run a hose into your gas can) then change the fuel filter when youve got the old gas out and check your brake lines to make sure they arent severely rusted.

brake pads are probobly best to be replaced if theres a lot of rust on the rotors just have them cut and slap some new pads on just to be on the safe side because if they are glazed from the rust it wont stop very good.

If you need a pcv catch can you probobly shouldn't bother doing any mods as this indicates a serious mechanical defect.

Ive never used a grainger valve but the zener diodes and adjustable map clamps work very well not sure if I want to trust a mechanical ball and spring when it comes to my fuel calibration.

spend the money you were going to use on the egt and dawes and by an innovate lc1 wideband instead ive seen them on ebay for $179 and you can get one with a digital readout for around $250 if you dont have a laptop or cant get the car close enough to your computer, the wideband is ten times better than either of those two devices.

My '91 Shadow actually has a syphon valve on the tank just above where the pump goes in. It's easy to reach and works well with a syphon pump. This car also sat for a few yrs.
