Hi guys, I'm trying to change my brake pads on my 87csx and when I go to compress the piston with a c clamp it will no go in. I've even left my brake resivor open incase that was an issue. Still nothing. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I spen a hour searching and found nothing.=/

I am not sure what type calipers are used on an 87.Are there seperate park brake shoes? If not the park brake mechanism is part of the caliper and the piston needs to be screwed in and compressed at the same time.they make a special tool for this.If there are 2 notch's in the piston you can try to turn the piston in with a large pair if needle nose pliers and then compress slightly and repeat this process until it is in.This is a real "pita" and if the piston is tight it will not work. You may have to purchase or rent a rear disc caliper tool.

There is no adjusting screw, the piston itself is threaded and it is attached to the park brake lever on the caliper. Once you have the tool they go right in.
This is a common tool for guy's in the field but I hear alot on this site about being able to rent tools like these at Auto Zone.
