Leaving for the track in....2 hours....
Decided to try the sway bar spacer trick, where you put a piece of ~5/8" plywood on top of the drivers side sway bar bushing and spacer nuts between the bottom half of the bracket and the frame, supposedly its supposed to REDUCE tire spin, but it did the exact opposite for my Daytona! Did I do it wrong? Is it just that more of the power is being planted to that side? What gives!!!?!??!

I do not about the sway bar trick but I can give some info.I had the track phototgrapher take a pic of my vehicle from the front at the starting line just as the car launched and he did a spectacular job. The front end is lifting equally on both sides and the rear end squat is tremendous. The rear end squating is unloading the front end and there is the lose of traction.since the front end lifts equally on both sides putting spacers in sway bar will not work as it may on a rear wheel drive vehicle where the engine torque is left to right,on fwd it is front to rear.
I used to feather the clutch at 2500 rpm launch and when the car hooked the 60' times were 2.23 with street tires and all stock vehicle.
If you want to improve traction you need to minimize engine torque and rear end squat but beware this may lead to broken engine mounts, drive axles, differential or trans problems.

I thought the spacers were supposed to go on the pass side... and I remember it being a couple of 3/8 washers. This mod is supposed to reduce wheelhop more than increase traction.

I could be wrong though, going from memory and don't feel like looking it up at the moment.

traction

it is the drivers side

do you lay down 2 black stips or 1? is one thicker than the other?

Im assuming that how thick of a spacer you need changes for every car, and you will need to 'tune' it to match your tona
