Hello, My 88 CSX-T failed emissions. I am going to replace the oxygen sensor but am having a hard time getting to it. Is there a special tool that is supposed to be used? I am new to the TD scene, but not to the old school mopar muscle cars. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You can cut the leads off of the old one and use a 7/8" Deep socket with a universal joint and extension or you can try to get a 7/8" box wrench on there and then use a pry bar against the wrench to break it loose. If you do this be sure to pry against something solid, not the power steering pump or something that will bend or break.Once it is loose it should come out easily.
They do make O2 sensor sockets of different types, there are some that look like a crows foot but is completly closed like a box end wrench and there are sockets that have a slit made in the side to allow the wires to hang out so you can get it on the sensor and remove and install.
You will need an extension and breaker bar if it has been in there a while and possibly a universal joint for the angle to get in there easily.
O2 Sensor sockets are 1/2" Drive.
If you would like to see pics go to tooltopia.com,click on vehicle specialty tools then exhaust tools then O2 tools.

Tons easier to remove and replace with the engine out, but that's only if it's already out

I do not remember having that much trouble with mine but I do this for a living and cannot and do not expect everybody to have access to all of the tools I have.
The only suggestion I would have to all is if there is something you will need often it is a wise investment to purchase the proper tools.
X-Mas is a great time to ask for tools,I got my valve spring compressor so i can do my valve seals now.

Let me tell you, I had a hell of a time with the one on my last daytona, that POS was just plain rusted together with the SV. We even had a socket, a torch, breaker bar, so we welded that hole up and drilled a new one lol
