Ok so here it is! i got a smack talking friend that owns a completely stock 89' Mustang LX 5.0L (automatic). I have an 89' dodge daytona turbo II with several mods (5-speed). The list of mods include t4/t3 turbo, fm475cam, JE pistons, forged crank, 53lbs/hr injectors and a Manual boost controller which is boosting between 17-18psi. I have falcan azenis tires on the front.

Who would win this dragrace? plz no bias opinions, i just want to hear what you really think is plausible.

i thought so to, but then my dad told me not to be so cocky and that thos late 80's early 90's mustangs could roll with alot of cars of thier time.
i did get a lil nervouse though when i saw they were like 250hp/315ftlbs and figure im prolly only like 215-230hp/215-230ftbls

Honestly, I think you should rape him. Hes a stock auto 5.0 and your car seems pretty well built. If you dont win, then crank up the boost till you do!

I used to beat stock Mustangs more then 50% of the time with my 89. It was stock other then a little extra boost. I beat alot of them when they would spin hard off the line. With your mods you should get him.

Being able to drive your car is a big part of the equation.

Those Mustangs were NOT 250hp. They were more like 215hp...IF they were lucky. Some were in the 230 range, but I beleive they were Cobra's. I personally think as long as you launch well you should stomp all over his ego!

Why wonder? Race him and find out... Have someone tape it for us to see, that and YouTube can always use more uploads

Something would be seriously wrong if you can't beat him.

if you want harmless I would make sure you have a FWD stage 5 cal with a 3 bar map for those injectors first so you don't run pig rich and kill power. Then I would take his Mustang to the tire dyno and the dump. Then you know both weights and both WHP to compare them. Any street race, though dangerous doesn't always say enough about the car, too much driver issues. Power to weight ratio says everything about the cars vs each other. All it takes is a horrid driver to make a car look bad, look at all the 14 second SRT 4s out there LMAO. And I'm sure this is about the cars and not on your driving skills...

not only a stick but also FWD without posi, it adds up. Driven right the Daytona is something but not driven right they are heavy and tough to get moving.
