I was just wondering what the normal idleing speed would be on a 3.0 Daytona auto I'm going to try to set base idle, the idle speed seems to be really high.

650 in drive is normal. But the question is why is yours high? did it suddenly happen? did you do something to cause this high idle? did you check for things that will obviously cause high idle, like vacuum leaks, bad ISC, bad intake gasket, binding trottle linkage, and so on.

Check for vacuum leaks first, theres a total of like 4 vacuum lines on the 3.0.

Where would these four vac lines be located? The EGR has been replaced and the AIS motor was taken out and cleaned. I noticed that upon removing the AIS I saw what looked like thick dark black oil like coating, is that normal? I also saw the same thing when looking past the throttle body door, if you flip it down and shine a flashlight in you can see alot of buildup. Can that cause a problem? and when I removed the AIS all I saw was of corse the motor and a metal shaft with a cone shaped piece at the end and a spring. I bought a new one and there the spring was located on the old one, on the new one there's metal where the spring was. Also where would that air intake gasket be located?
