my car was retrofitted to take 134a about 8 years ago. i am trying to get the air working again but the compressor clutch keeps locking up. can someone please tell me what that means and how i can solve the problem?

Can you turn the clutch hub by hand with the engine off? when it locks up does it stop the pulley? 3.0 use a V belt is it tight? Have you recharged the system? If so how much R-134 did you put in and how much does the sticker under the hood say it used with R-12. Do you have a gauge set?

pick the section you want to start a thread click that section and at the top (after the adds and before the threads) there is a button that says new thread.
