closed throttle and not smooth

I am still tweaking this thing-

a little history, I bought it new in the fall of '87 (88 daytona shelby z, 2.2 intercooled turbo) and it is mostly stock, has a new turbo and wastegate, after it sat in the garage for 4 years with a turbo that had an internal oil leak so it smoked so bad I had to park it-

It pulls pretty hard and smooth, boosts to 12-13 lbs, good gas mileage, does not run hot at all-now my WIFE, who rode in it tonight, commented about how it felt 'rough' while coasting-I was in 4th, around 2300 RP. level ground, no load-and it almost feels like it 'skips'. But even with light throttle, it is smooth and even. It boosts easily, and pulls hard-what could it be ? (I hate telling her she is correct, I didn't really notice it but now that she said it..I said I was kind of 'lugging' it, but at 23-2400 no load, that is NOT the case here, I think)-I have timing set at 12 BTDC, idles at 900 rpm-no vacuum leaks (except for the boost controller, is ther a way to solve that? Ideas? thanks

There are numerous things that may cause a roughness on decel.The system goes lean and engine vacuum increases to its highest level.
Anything from a fouled/worn/improperly gapped plug, worn valve guide, slightly burnt valve, dirty injectors, carbon deposits(when they get hot they soak the fuel up) can cause this.
Since the car sat I would start by cleaning the injectors with a pressurized injector cleaner that connects directly to the fuel rail with the fuel system disabled, this will clean the injectors and any combustion chamber deposits.
An in tank chemical will not do the job.
Also, what do the plugs look like?

new cap and rotor and make sure the plug wires are fully inserted by turning the cap over and looking. I've seen this numerous times. Car skips at cruise. Pull apart the cap and someone didn't shove the wires in all the way. Some caps have to be drilled a bit to make room for the insulation.

thanks for both replys, I guess after it sitting 4 years the plugs, cap rotor and maybe even the wires along with a pressure clean of the injectors would be in line-one thing i like about my 2.2 it is really easy to work on, so it cannot hurt to check it out-thanks again
