my 89 daytona auto trans 2.5 non turbo is bucking (guess that would be the term to use) when I go 45-55 mph an let off the gas.. but if I give it gas it runs fine...can anyone tell me if this is a serious thing to worry about? an what may be causing this to happen? thank you...

u could need a tranny, maybe u need a tune up, possibly a vacuum leak, bad engine prob perhaps, how about poopy gas, what about driver error?

but the biggest prob i've ever seen with a tranny is that damn adams apple.

87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95 2.2 and 2.5 na all used lu convert.

biggest prob is lack of info to solve dudes prob. maybe if we had better info, we could give better answer. had a guy say he needed a trans rebuild cuz it was surging when he was climbing a hill on the way to work. quick test drive, i determ it needed new spark plugs cuz they were original and car had 140k so new plugs fixed the trans prob. imagine that!

I'm not a mechnic nor claim to be one so what ever info you need..please ask.. I thought I gave enuff info to help solve my problem..sorry for the lack of info

as for spark plugs they was put in about 3 month ago..did basic tune up... it hasn't been run since the 2nd week of april... had a minor fender bender .... drove the car to the body shop today..

another question... someone said maybe it's driver error...how is that prossible with a auto trans??? thanks for answering my questions...

because the driver is trying to describe the problem but there just aint enough info. how about this: my tv don't work, what could be wrong? can u answer that cuz its about the same amount of info

history of when the problem started would help.

u dont have to be a mechanic but put yourself on the other side of the fence, i asked about my tv, think u can fix it w/o physically seeing the problem? you can throw a crap load of guesses at it, but if u don't know how to problem solve or have mechanical aptitiude, how do u expect to pinpoint the prob?

the smartest thing u could do is have someone that is mechanically inclided physically see your car, test drive it and give a determination. start w/ a local tranny shop (not a gay bar) and see if they can help u out... even if it costs you a couple bucks, it is money well spent especially if u learn from it. education sometimes costs $

sounds similar to the problem im having with my neon, installed a good trans with a bad converter so it SOUNDS like the converter. However like allmotor said more info is needed.

Does it only buck when you let off at 45-55 or at any speed? What gear was it in? What transmission is it?(check the tag on the top of the transmission)Has the trans ever been rebuilt/serviced to your knowledge? Is it the origonal? Idles fine ect? Any noises? This will all help determine or at least narrow down the possablities of what the issue at hand is.
