let start off by saying I have never hated a car as much as this thing. this car has fought me tooth and nail the whole time iv owned it weather its from the new fuel injectors or the fuel pump or the gas tank i had to replace cus the last ownner let it sit for two years. Now what i belive the turbo is smoking it still boosts up and all but when the car is running for a while you can see smoke coming from the back of the engine. its white smoke like pure white smoke and its not alot of smoke but it is smoke none the less and you can smell burning stuff i have no idea whats going on with the car personally i think the turbo needs to be rebuilt but thats a project in a half. and before i go pulling the motor and turbo i want to know if im right please help as atm i am without a car.

Hey welcome to the board, you probably blew a headgasket. Do a compression test to confirm. You also may have air bubbles coming out the radiator- another sign of a blown headgasket.

The more you hate your car, the more broken it will be.

Do a compression test.

Sounds like a blown headgasket to me, white smoke and the smell is antifreeze
burning.

remove head, check for flatness and clean, reinstall head.

Seriously it is prety straight forward, it will take about 1.5hrs to remove head- leave turbo and manifolds on the head and remove as a unit. Get a helper to pull the head off and re-install. Probably will take 2-3 hours to reinstall. A factory manual will save your a$$ on a job like this.

Easiest way is to disconnect vac lines etc, turbo boot, exhaust, remove timing belt
and pull head assy with intake, exhaust manifold and turbo still attached to the head.
Put the head back as an assembly, manifold and turbo. DO NOT USE FELPRO head gasket
or you will be doing it again. I recommend Mopar gasket or Cosmetic, cosmetic is more
expensive and is supposed to be reuseable but Mopar is cheaper works great and will
blow before you blow a piston. You must also replace head bolts every time you replace
the head, or get a set of ARP head studs that can be reused for 3x the cost of studs.
I am getting ready to pull my head to replace it with a ported head, I got all my parts from Chris at TU.
Good luck.

Head bolts don't need to be replaced every time, only if they are bad. COMETIC head gasket.

New head bolts - if you've re-used the head bolts twice, you will need a new set because they can only be stretched three times. Using them again will not provide enough force on the head. You will know when this happens if you do not reach 95 ft-lbs of torque during the final head tightening sequence. This info came from mini mopar link posted by tryingbe above.

Go for it! Tell us how it goes when you blow another head gasket or have coolant seeping all over your motor
