My car had a low boost sitution. I was told to try unplugging the vacum line to the wastgate actuator and see if it helps. It did. The the car now builds about 10 psi of boost.
My question is can I continue to run the car this way?

My second question is do I need a new Actuator or if not why isn't it boosting with the actuator connected?

Thanks,

If you can only build 10 psi with the line to the waste gate actuator unhooked, you have a leak somewhere. In this configuration, you should quickly hit overboost, well above 10 psi.

Do you mean a leak in the exhaust system or the turbo.
What should I look for next?

Let me know,

Thanks,

A leak somewhere between the turbo and the throttle body. Lower IC hose, upper IC hose, blow off valve, etc.

Is it possible it is a turbo problem? The turbo looks new.
How high would be considered over boost on this car.

There's an over-boost shut-off built into the LM. You'll know when you hit it!! With your stock GLHS LM, boost should only go to 9 PSI then hit the shut-off.

I've only had the car a week so everything is new to me.

When the boost gauge goes above 0 it bounces around a lot. Is this because the gauge is bad or maybe because I have a leak?

As was stated earlier, it seems you have a leak in the tubing between the turbo/ intercooler/throttle body. Check the tubing and couplers for cracks/tears. Also make sure your clamps are tight. Also see if the vacuum nipple that screws into the intake is tight. What does your boost/vacuum gauge read at idle? If there's a vacuum leak, there's a spot where the intake charge will leak out under boost.

When I first start the car up it reads -10 for a couple seconds then drops to -20.
After Idling a few seconds it bounces between -16 to-18.
The gauge is fairly stable until I step on it. After it gets to 0 and above it the needle bounces around really bad.
I looked over the intake hoses but didn't see any obvioius problems.
Could it be a dirty air filter?
Also the clips on the air filter assembly are not very tight. Could this create a problem?

Thanks for the reply's,

The gauge should'nt bounce around. I'd check the compression. See what those numbers are. Possibly you have a leaking intake valve, or the cam's out of time slightly.
A dirty air filter would'nt cause the issues' you're seeing.
