I need my windows to work for this stupid 35C+ weather we have been having. All of a sudden they just stopped working. My girlfriends dad did something, he said he squeezed one of the connectors that connects to the pin to make more contact but I tried squeezing them all and that doesn't work at all.

I have tried many 30A fuses and 30A 12V fuses (in the metal cases?). I can make them go up and down if I hold the switch and then bridge one of the connections with needle nose pliers but that's it.

Also, I took it apart and the wires fell out but I found a diagram and put it back together... is this correct?

Edit: I read some other similar threads on power windows, I'm gonna track down a new switch for the center console but if anyone has some advice I would still appreciate it.

Testing and Inspection

To test the window switches, remove the switches from the center console and remove the wiring harness from the back of the switches. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position. Connect a test light between the TN (or RD) wire and the GY (or BK) wire. If the test light does not come on or is dim, check the circuit breaker and the wiring to the switches.

To test the right window switch, connect jumper wires between the TN (or RD) and DG wires and the GY (or BK) and VT wires. This should make the right window go down.[1] reversing the wires should make the window go up. If the window does not operate properly, check the window motor and wiring.

To test the left window switch, connect jumper wires between the TN (or RD) and DG* wires and the GY (or BK) and VT* wires. This should make the left window go down.[1] reversing the wires should make the window go up. If the window does not operate properly, check the window motor and wiring.

Remarks

[1] If the window is already in either the full up or full down positions, it will not move any further in that direction.

I just went through this, my windows all of a sudden stopped working, and it ended up that for some reason, the neg pin needed to be bent a little to make contact-it is the grey wire, check the pin, get a needle nose and slightly torque the pin and plug it back into the harness-I ordered a new switch, but haven't even installed it since that cured my problem.

Hmm I tried this but didn't work

I also tried sanding the points of the switch with fine sandpaper and that didn't help.

I just ordered a new switch from ebay

when I was going through this, I used a long piece of wire and grounded the connection between the grey post and the harness, and got it to work-that's how I realized the post was not touching the socket in the harness. I checked everything else before this (had door panels off to check motors, removed the seats to see if the harness was compromised somehow) and that was all it was-and the new switch was easier to get than I thought, Advance got one from another store (one of those 'Help' blister pack deals)-and it was only 12 bucks, got it the next day. hope that solves it, it is a PITA not having working windows...
