Garage Storage Organization and Garage Cabinets

Okay, I have an 1988 T2/A-555 out of a daytona with daytona mounts and i have it sitting on an engine hoist hovering in the engine bay of a 1987 Omni 2.2 Non turbo/Automatic. I am having issues using the passenger side motor mount from the daytona in the omni, and i have somehow misplaced the omni's original engine mount. I was wondering, What mounts am i supposed to use for this swap? Where the auto cars mounted in different places than the manuals? Someone please help!

Also, I have read countless T2 swap posts. Everyone tells me that omni mounts are significantly weaker than the daytonas. Does this matter at about the 290-300 HP range? I think i should elaborate that its the bracket that attaches to the car that i am having trouble getting to fit.

L-body mounts are proprietary.

Okay, So its been over a week and my engine is still hovering. I have since located the stock omni mount to make the engine fit, but there has to be a beefier alternative. Can anyone please give me some information on how to mount an 1988 T2/A555 combo in what used to be a 1987 TBI/Auto Omni? I tried ordering some reproduction GLH engine/tranny mounts, They extend too far into the engine bay to line up properly... What am i doing wrong?

I have all 3 from my GLHS setup that I had in my Rampage, so it would have the front engine mount, passenger side and drivers side mounts. The part you would have to upgrade is the bobble strut on the rear of the engine to work on the k-frame. You will need to get a hold of a mount to weld onto it.

Are there no TD specialty shops that sell this mount?

I do not think they have the metal portion of the mount, but I know that they sell the inserts that go into the mount to make them semi-solid. But the only mount I know that they will sell is the bobble strut on the back of the transmission.

Would you happen to have a link to one of those? I have been scouring the web for them. I can't seem to find them on any of the TD hotspots.

Those are the 2 from the approved vendors, but both also have the inserts if you are wanting them.

No problem, hope it works for you. I have had a lot of troubles with the L-body front motor mounts, I kept breaking off the tabs. So for right now I do have the mount, just let me know if you are ever needing it.
