Ok man Im going to have to agree with Travis K. I had a 85 GLH and sank about the same amount of doe into it about 5-5500$ in it.I have a buddy of mine that is a turbo dodge freak and is a professional mechanic. We done all the upgrades mentioned and the damn thing just would not stay together, sure when it was running right, it was lightning quick, but it seemed like everytime we got on it...something else would break, so after about the 3rd wiring harness, 3 turbos, 2 pistons, and removing the head about 3 or 4 times for various reasons....I decided to let the nightmare go. So if you have the doe to throw away, its a perfect project...otherwise take the cash you have and go find you a SRT-4 neon, or something like that.Plus as everyone else has mentioned the parts are getting extremely hard to find and plus mopar only stamped another 400 of the high performance head gaskets that they take...so even those are going to be limited....so take my advice and get rid of it while your ahead.....and put your money in something well vested...I ended up trading for a 88 nissan 300zx turbo...which is not as fast as the omni on the 0-60 but has a insane top end, but Im now currently eyeing the new challenger all 425 horsepower...

I dont think you should get rid of it, I mostly just meant a stock 85 is too old and has too little parts support left to be a daily driver. For a restoration an 86 would be much better. IMO to make the 85 reliable you need to get rid of all of the 85 specific stuff (like i said before, wiring, computer, starter, distributor, rubber ends on the shift linkage, P/S pump, tranny if you are going to mbe making more power, log intake setup, etc) and use the better parts from newer turbo dodges.

Well good luck with it man, luckily when i got mine, it came from south florida and it didnt have much undercarriage rust..but it had been wrecked, and the wiring harness mutilated so my freind and I re done the entire front support core, new wiring harnesses, turbo,,,the works spent about a total of 18 months on it and had it running great, but for some reason it kept eating the turbos up and after about 4 months i started having computer troubles with the upgrade .I was pushing close to 20 lbs of boost, and it took me forever to get the air/fuel ratio right...a hint of advice...dont go cheap on your air/fuel ratio gauge.I busted a piston all to pieces cause i was running lean and didnt know it cause of a cheap guage. But like I said man good luck with yours, take your time and be proud of it when you get it all fixed up...theres not many left and there getting really hard to find....
