ported my intake and replaced valve cover gaskets, car ran fine last night and early this morning. then when i went to go to school a couple hours later it wouldnt start. thinking its the starter because theres just nothing when you turn the key, no clicking or anything. and the battery is fully charged so thats not it. i checked and couldn't find any loose wires.

ok so you did all this cool stuff and now your car wont start. battery is for sure good? lights good, all other electrical is ok? no start no click, wires tight for sure? power at the starter big battery wire? power at the small wire when in start mode?

could problem be a bad starter? could problem be a bad neutral switch (auto) or clutch switch (manual)? could problem be bad starter relay? could problem be bad ignition switch? maybe wiring problems..

so where should you start with proper rational and pragmatic problem solving diagnosis? starter? relay? ign switch? wiring?

Power on the large wire is direct battery.
Power on the smaller wire is from the starter relay and will only be powered with the key in the start position.
The starter relay will have 2 power sources(1 constant power, 1 switched ignition from the ignition switch), a ground(thru the park/neutral switch on auto trans) and an output to the starter.

ok, so if i have no power to the starter relay with the ignition in start position, is it a bad ignition switch? my friends daytona just had something very similar happen and thats what it was. cost him $300 to have it fixed. im not paying that much for anything on this pile of shit.

$300.00, somebody got ripped off, the circuit is not that difficult unless there was a wiring issue involving opening the harness to trace an open or shorted wire.
To check the starter relay,
12 Gauge BK wire is constant battery power(hot all the time)
14 Gauge YL wire is switched ignition(hot with key in the start position)
18 Gauge BR/LB wire is ground thru the Park/Neutral switch
14 Gauge BR wire is the output to the starter
If power is good at those 2 points of the relay and the ground circuit is good but no output to starter replace the relay. If power or ground is missing get back to me and I will tell you were to go from there.

In my 1990 Chrysler wiring manual, the way Chrysler laid out the wiring they are a PITA and spread out over numerous pages so I figured it was easier for me to just list the wiring.
If you want to see the wiring I will certainly post it.

in start?

wouldn't a wiring diagram and a shop manual be awsome about now?

so go to the ignition switch and see if you have continuity between the switch and relay.

Start by testing for power directly at the ignition switch connector, if no power be sure the terminal is not broken in the connector, if ok replace the ignition switch.
If power is present at the switch you will have to trace the wiring.
Be aware that aftermarket alarms use that wire for ignition kill.
